Another Earth

Monday, March 31st, 2014

If I see the other me on another Earth, what would I say? Would I know me? How different would we be?

One thing is for sure. The other me would have fewer psychological scars.  Have passion for life and live life to the fullest as we always wanted to.  Contribute in meaningful work.

Gravity

Another great movie.  In the face of tremendous adversity, which do you choose – life or death?  Either way, it is a hell of a ride.

Home is where the heart is

Wrong planet, John Carter?  It’s alright, I suppose, as long as he found it at last.

Different, not less

“Think of it as a door”.  “Doors to a new world”

August Rush

Saturday, February 15th, 2014

Beautiful music which lifts the spirit.  August beams with sheer delight when he plays music.  That is intrinsic happiness from the love of music… “more than food”.

August Rhapsody

Something Inside – Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Our life journey is akin to a symphony.  If there are four movements to a symphony, which stage are you at now?  If the music is still playing, we will get to the finale.

Don’t give up yet, especially when you are dredging through the slow movement which is an important build-up phase.

Thanks August for bringing me back.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Saturday, December 28th, 2013

A warm and uplifting movie of the journey from disbelief to faith, from impossible to possible.

Dr Jones (played by Ewan McGregor) has Asperger’s Syndrome. His obsession is fishing.  He has a fish pond at home which he goes to when he needs time alone.

For me, this website is my fish pond 🙂

Monsieur Ibrahim

(1:15)
I’ll make you dance.

You?

Yes, you must. Absolutely.

A man’s heart is like a caged bird.

When you dance, your heart sings…

…and then rises to heaven.

They spin around their hearts.

God is there, in their hearts.

It’s like a prayer.

They lose all their bearings,

that burden we call balance.

They become like torches.

They burn in a blazing fire.

My head’s clear.

All my hatred….

Is that praying?

Let’s have some tea.

When one loses something, he gains another, possibly even better. Momo lost a father to depression, but gained a foster dad in Monsieur Ibrahim who taught him valuable life lessons.

This is a good movie.  It re-ignites the spark of adventure in me 🙂
